Pennell Students Set Goals for a New School Year

Pennell students kicked off the 2026-27 school year with the theme "Champions Lead Here" and an opening assembly focused on leadership, goal-setting, and taking ownership of learning.

Students were introduced to The 7 Habits, Wildly Important Goals (WIGs), and Leadership Portfolios, which will be used throughout the school year to help students develop leadership skills and work toward meaningful goals.

Over the coming weeks, each class will create a class WIG, followed by students setting personal WIGs. These goals will give students something specific to work toward and reflect on throughout the year.

The assembly also included a little fun for students, as Pennell teachers and staff sported some BIG wigs to help introduce the WIG concept.

It was a fun way to kick off a year focused on leadership, goal-setting, and growth at Pennell Elementary.
