In honor of National Bullying Prevention Month, Pennell Elementary welcomed representatives from AAA and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Center for Violence Prevention to introduce "Understanding Bullying," a new resource designed for AAA School Safety Patrollers.
This module helps students:
- Recognize different types of aggression
- Act as positive bystanders
- Seek support from trusted adults
On October 30, AAA and CHOP presented the program to Pennell’s 41 Safety Patrollers, equipping them with the skills to recognize bullying, support their peers, and foster a safe school environment.
“Our students play an important role in creating a school culture where everyone feels safe and valued,” said Pennell Principal Christa Palladino. “Partnering with AAA and CHOP lets us give our student leaders the tools they need to recognize and respond to bullying. Programs like this empower students to look out for one another and foster respect and kindness throughout our community. It’s inspiring to see them take on this responsibility and make a real difference in each other’s lives.”
With their new skills, Pennell’s Safety Patrollers are ready to lead by example, helping to make our school a place where everyone feels safe and supported.
