A Winning Experience for All: Pennell Hosts 5th Grade Science Fair

The Pennell Elementary School 5th Grade Science Fair was an incredible event that showcased student learning in action across our district. Each project reflected the seven C’s in our Portrait of a Graduate - Collaboration, Connection, Character, Communication, Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Competence - and we would even argue it highlighted an eighth C: Curiosity.

From early brainstorming sessions to collaborating with Ms. Bondanza’s 9th grade honors students, and from carefully working through each step of the writing process in class to conducting detailed experiments at home, our students demonstrated dedication and perseverance every step of the way. The effort, precision, and pride were evident in every display. Every single 5th grader should feel proud of their work — it certainly made the judges’ decisions a challenge.

Sixteen projects rose to the top and earned Blue Ribbon recognition:

  • Brooklynn Bacon
  • Jaxson Campbell
  • Madilyn Cape
  • Stella Crawford
  • Alex Druding
  • Harper Ferhle
  • Andrew Four
  • Max Gallagher
  • Gavin Garrity
  • Drew Lauver
  • Gillian Reed
  • Mason Russo
  • Brynn Salomone
  • Carsyn Snyder
  • Quincy Sullivan
  • Scarlett Tallarida

Congratulations to all of the 2026 Science Fair participants! We are so proud of the way our students continue to lead, learn, and shine.
