Sun Valley Homecoming Brings the Community Together

Sun Valley Homecoming Brings the Community Together

Following a week of spirited celebrations across Penn-Delco schools, the Sun Valley High School community came together for a Homecoming weekend filled with energy, tradition, and school pride.

The excitement kicked off Friday afternoon with the annual pep rally, which this year featured a special addition: Northley Middle School 8th graders were invited to join the celebration for the first time. Students cheered on their classmates and enjoyed performances of the alma mater and national anthem by the SVHS choir, routines by the cheer team, and games including musical chairs, balloon toss, and tug-of-war.

Friday evening’s parade showcased creativity and teamwork, with each school in the district marching alongside Sun Valley’s Philly-sports-themed floats. Families and alumni lined the streets to cheer on participants and show their Vanguard pride.

The night continued at the football game, where the highlight came during halftime as the 2025 Homecoming Court was introduced and seniors Luci Damico and Chase Kmett were crowned Homecoming Queen and King! Following the announcement, the Sun Valley Marching Band took the field with a performance of their 2025 show, Wonderland.

While the final score wasn’t in Sun Valley’s favor, the weekend was a resounding success - celebrating connection, school spirit, and the community that makes Penn-Delco proud.
